授業概要 |
This course is an introduction to the Development Studies. This course introduces the basic development theories, institutional architecture, and practice of international development. There is special focus on issues relating to poverty, education, health and governance, but the course also introduces development theories in the fields of sustainability, human rights and gender equality. The class poses the central “questions”: What does poverty mean? Why are some countries poorer than others? How have different development actors been addressing the challenges of development? Who are left behind from development fruits and why? This course will unpack these questions by providing an overview of existing knowledge and best practices in the field. |
